Pete Maas extended his thanks to the City of Renton (for himself and the other
NMTAC Members)for allowing them to be involved with what goes on in the City.
He also said that the Committee felt privileged and valued because they were
allowed as members of the community to provide input into some of the changes
and modifications that have occurred over the years.
Craig Paynter, on a lighter note, added that he is very pleased with the two lane
turn at the QFC and Bartell Drugs Store in the Highlands which allows bicyclists to
get out of this parking lot very easy now. Craig also mentioned that he lent the
Trails Plan to Vashon citizens for a few months so they could use it as a sample for
suggestions and ideas.
Leslie Betlach also noted that the NMTAC may reconvene again in approximately
four years when it is time to update the Renton Trails and Bicycle Master Plan.
An informal open discussion among the Committee Members followed regarding
current conditions and/or status on several trail and bicycle areas in the
community.
The latter portion of the meeting served as a social gathering to thank this
committee for their service. Committee Members were asked to stay in touch
