CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 4:33 pm.
GUEST: Lynda Maybury gave a presentation on "How to Use Online Search and Social Media to Attract
Audiences."
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: COMMISSIONER BRITT MCKENZIE PRESENTED THE MINUTES FOR JUNE 2013.
JARIS ENGLISH MOVED TO APPROVE, EVELYN REIGNGOLD SECONDED. MOTION CARRIED.
� CORRESPONDENCE AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:
• lennifer Davis Hayes shared that 2 tickets were available to the luly 25th Renton Art Show
Preview Event.Jaris English and Evelyn Reingold are going. Peter Hartely and Mitch Shepherd
would like to go if any more tickets arrive.
• luly 20th,there will be an artist's reception for Cheryl Renee Long at Carco Theatre.
o This led into some conversation regarding attendance at these artist's receptions.
• Reminder that the "Defining Spaces" Exhibit at Renton History Museum will continue through
August 24. Elizabeth Stewart shared brochures from the event.
OLD BUSINESS:
• Renton River Days
• 1%for Art—4 Cow Public art is progressing.Jennifer Davis Hayes shared the new images and
design.
• Lighting Renton.There will be more discussion and a committee review.The Italian artists are
unavailable.A new design was submitted. Discussion on Portland's new lit art project. Mitch
shared images.

NEW BUSINESS:
• Renton Annual Art Show Purchase prize. It was discussed that long ago, RMAC had purchased
art during this show. EVELYN REINGOLD MOVED THAT THE RMAC PURCHASES A PIECE OF ART
THIS YEAR NO LESS THAN $300 AND NO MORE THAN $500. PETER HARTLEY SECONDED.
MOTION WAS PASSED. Britt McKenzie, Peter Hartley and Mitch Shepherd will choose the art to
be purchased
• Logo development. No new news.
GUEST: Peter Hartley shared that we'd received a 4Culture site-specific grant.Artist Kristin Schimik,
showed us the art project which will occur at the Mine Hoist site.The performance will occur August 24,
during the Downtown Renton Antique&Art Walk.There also be will an artist talk event on August 15 at
the Renton History Museum. `
ADJOURNMENT: The July 2, 2013 meeting was adjourned at 6:30 pm. The next meeting will be held on
August 6, 2013 in the Renton City Hall Conferencing Center(7th Floor)at 4:30 pm.
