June 4, 2013 Renton City Hall
Conferencing Center(7th Floor)
Present: Britt McKenzie,Jerri Everett, Marsha Rollinger,T.Y.Lau, Bill Huls, Michele Bettinger, Peter
Hartley, Natalie Gress, Mitch Shepherd, Ben Andrews, Evelyn Reingold
Absent: Jaris English, Paul Hebron (joined the meeting by speaker phone for public art discussion)
Guests: Linnea Granryd, Michael 0'Halloran, Betty Childers

CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 4:35 pm.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: COMMISSIONER BRITT MCKENZIE PRESENTED THE MINUTES FOR MAY, 2013
MARSHA ROLLINGER MOVED TO APPROVE,SECONDED BY MICHELE BETTINGER. MOTION APPROVED.
CORRESPONDENCE AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Jennifer Davis Hayes passed around the correspondence folder for individual review.
• Artist Reception at Carco Theater:June 9, 3-5 pm
• Exhibit Opening for"Defining Spaces":June 13, 5:30-7:30 pm
• "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum":Opens at Renton Civic Theater 6/14
OLD BUSINESS:
Committee reports:
SIFF- Renton: The attendance this year was over 2000. This was the highest attendance and 2X% �
higher than (ast year. It was considered a success by the SIFF-Renton committee.Washington Filmworks
will be in Renton on June 17 for an all day tour to learn more about future film locations in Renton and '
meet the Mayor, Chamber staff, hotel staff and others. There will be a mini-reception that Jennifer will
send more information about that all Commissioners are invited to attend.
Renton River Davs Booth: Michele Bettinger and Mitch Shepherd are working on planning the booth. A I
schedule was passed around for Commissioners to sign up for a 3-4 hour shift to work in the booth on '
Friday,Saturday or Sunday. tf you signed up for a time be sure to be there on time. lennifer Spencer
volunteered to furnish prize baskets for the raffle.

The Commissioners were joined by some members of the Galvanizing Arts Project(GAP) Committee to
discuss the two concepts for the Lighting Renton art project and to provide valuable feedback to shape
the next concepts presented. All Commissioners and GAP Committee members shared their opinion
and Jennifer will summarize the information and meet with the artist team to provide feedback.
ADJOURNMENT: The June 2013 meeting was adjourned at 6:45 pm.The next meeting will be held on
July 2,2013 in the Renton City Hall Conferencing Center(7th Floor) at 4:30 pm.
