IV. SECO,PID QUARTER AGENCY PERFORMANCE REPORTS
Dianne Utecht gave a follow-up on the Agencies that did not meet first quarter
performance. All Agencies are meeting contract goals for the second quarter. She
noted all are now on track and have submitted reports, even though some reports
were submitted a few days late. Consequence of not meeting the deadline is that
the Agency will not get paid until the report is submitted and approved.
V. OUTCOMES
Dianne Utecht handed out the proposed 2011 outcomes of the agencies the City
funds. Currently all South King County cities require outcomes to be reported, but it
is unclear how they are used in funding recommendations. The question asked was
if outcomes are used to improve the overall operations of the agency or should they
be used as part of the funding process? Karen noted that the cities are working
toward common outcomes and reports but it will take some time to get there. The
possibility of a sub-committee was discussed but the cost of staff and time is an
issue. This Committee will discuss this item when more information is available.
VI. HUMAN SERVICES WEB PAGES
Karen gave an overview of the Human Services web pages. Her vision is to have two
tracks—one for the public and the other for the City-funded Agencies. The
information for the agencies would contain everything they need for the application
process, forms, and information from the capacity building workshops. She also
reviewed the Advisory Committee's web page, and asked for suggestions for
improvement. The information for the public would be up-to-date, versus the
Resource Directory, which is static.
VII. GRANT WRITING WORKSHOP
Dianne reviewed the evaluations of the Grant Writing Workshop held on July 6,
2011. The workshop was for people with little grant writing experience. The
positive feedback on the workshop was that it was a valuable tool for writing grants.
Committee members agreed that there was enough funding to do a fourth
workshop, and provide technical assistance to the agencies. Discussions followed as
to surveying all Agencies that applied to the City for funding and, what the topic
should be for the fourth workshop, instead of just relying on the feedback from
those that attended the grant writing workshop. A final decision on the topic for the
fourth workshop will be made after the Sub-committee gathers results of the
broader survey.

VIIi.AGENCY QUARTERLY PERFORMANCE REPORTS
Karen discussed the need for agencies to describe changes in their organization and
how they deliver the services. The place for them to do this is in the Quarterly
Performance Reports, Narrative Section. The Human Services Advisory Committee
(HSAC) members thought this was interesting and educational information. It was
decided that the best place to post this information is on the HSAC's webpage.
IX. RESOURCE FAIR
Adria Krail gave an update on the second Annual Bridging the Gap Resource Fair
happening on Saturday, October 1 at the Renton Pavilion Event Center. Sponsors for
the event are City of Renton, Renton Housing Authority (RHA), King County Housing
Authority (KCHA), Seattle Housing Authority (SHA), and the YWCA. In 2010,there
were 50-70 exhibitors and this year exhibitors are expected to double. Adria is
contacting all non-profit organizations that the City funds to participate at the event.

the Fair. Flyers will be printed in the beginning of September.
