Ben called the meeting to order at 10:00 A.M., attendance was taken, minutes of
previous meeting were read, corrections were noted and mi.nutes were approved.
TREASURER REPORT- Sandy Polley
Bank statement as of as of 6/03/13 No changes $16,355.29
RECREATION SUPERVISOR—Shawn Daly
• Mirrors that were discussed last meeting were ordered and received. Mike
Nolan will be installing them soon.
• -Staff sent the draft copy-of-the tri-fold that was submitted by the committee-to— -- — - -
the Communication Dept. for review and editing. Fina1 draft will be returned
to the comm.ittee on June 17�'for review.
� � Lisa wanted to know if the Float Committee wants her to order skirting.
Debbie ordered the duck calls and has information on shirts to be considered.
Bill Clapp responded that the Float Committee will get back to Lisa.
• Shawn asks how many members had seen the RSVP articles that featured
Grracie Hanson. It was a wonderful article about Crracie and also a very
favorable article about the Renton Senior Center.
� Shawn had a check for$100.00 from Lottie Calhoun that was given to
Treasurer Sandy Polley.
• Shawn attended the Special Populations Olympic event on Saturday.
Watching the awards ceremony really reflected how proud these participates
are and how rewarding it is for everyone.
• The Ikuta.Fund has a balance of$676,567.42. Janice Ikuta was a member of
' our Renton Senior Center and upon her death her will allocated 16%of her
estate to the Renton Senior Center. That was a staggeri.ng$600,000.00
dollars. There were very specific stipulations as to how that money should be
spent.
• Mark your calendars for Sept.13�'for the Rockin on the River event.
• July 10�'from 6:00 P.M. till 8:30 P.M. is the Fabulous 50's event. There will
be entertainment, hamburgers and fries and a great tune for a11. There are
flyers up around the center. Check them out and plan on attending.

Discussion: Milt suggested that the Agenda be revised removi.ng the date and
Ieavin.g the conte�rt the same. Each m.ember would receive a copy and that wauld
be the refezence for each meeting. This will elimi.nate rutaning copies for every
meeti.ng. Staff agreed and will start this on 3une 17th.
Ben has removed last year°s minutes froxn his notebook. He suggested that
members do the same to eliminate packing around�he additianal weight.
Ben & Shawn suggested might it be a good idea for the cammittee to meet once a
manth instead of bi-mantbly. The meeting would possibly e�tend to one and a

halfto two hours. T�iere was discussion an this but no motion ta implement.

Old business:
Bill& Peggy reported their findings regarding a salad bar. The conclusion was
that at the present time the salad bar implementation will be dropped because
of cost.
Ben inquired of Mary Brown if her committee had researched what services are
offered by the nurse that comes to the center. Mary will get back to the
committee regarding that question.
Pat the ADA paperwork was sent to the City Attomey and was accepted.
A copy was given to Peggy to put in the file.
Dorothy reported that the Enumclaw Ceram.ic show was held last week-end and
several of our Renton Senior participates brought home winning ribbons.
Pat encouraged all members to participate with the Float Committee and be part of
the parade a.nd activities.
Sandy had several people ask why they could not get a good picture or sound on
Channel 21 to watch the Senior Revue. Debbie had called a contact person
and found out the problem was a server and that has been corrected.
Nezt board meeting is June 17th.
Ben adjourned the meeting at 11:00 A.M.
