CALL TO ORDER Acting Chair Amy Pieper called the meeting to order at 5:40 p.m. In Attendance Members: Amy Pieper, Erica Richey, Catherine Ploue-Smith,Suzi Ure City of Renton Staff: Marty Wine, Diane Wagner KCLS Staff: Angelina Benedetti,Aaron Oesting Absent/Excused Laurie Beden,Terry Higashiyama Others Present Guests: Jenny Manning, Renton Patch; Ruth Coates, Miller Hull Partnership, LLP II. APPROVAL OF AGENDA A motion was made by Erica Richey, seconded by Catherine Ploue-Smith,to approve the February Agenda. All were in favor, motion carried,Agenda approved. III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES � A motion was made by Erica Richey, seconded by Suzi Ure,to approve the January Minutes. All were in favor, motion carried, Minutes approved. IV. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS/PUBLIC COMMENTS None. V. BOARD COMMUNICATION Suzi commented on her attendance at the Friends of the Library meeting and passed around information related to the eight different programs that were approved. Aaron Oesting commented that the Vice President was reinstated and that the Bylaws were currently being considerecf for approval, possibly by the next meeting. Amy Pieper mentioned she recently purchased a Nook Color and is working on downloading books. VI. CITY REPORT/MARTY WINE Marty Wine advised that the Enumclaw annexation to KCLS is on the April ballot and she was contacted by Patch to find out if any board members were interested in being interviewed. Marty has the contact information if anyone is interested. KCLS REPORT/ANGELINA BENEDETTI Angelina gave an update on the Poster Project/Take Time to Read walking tour and passed around pictures of different posters around Renton. She also advised how the posters work and that they will be up until May. Marty mentioned the Renton Reporter article on Angelina and how nice it was to see her appreciated for her continued efforts and great job. Marty mentioned there was an RFP put out for Architects for the downtown Renton Library location design. Many representatives from several businesses showed interest and there was a RFP Proposer Conference. The Fairwood Library Architect RFP will come out after the Downtown Architect is selected. VIII. DISCUSSION/ACTION ITEMS Master Plan: Amy gave a brief explanation of the Master Plan for the attending guests. Discussion followed in length about the list of ideas and suggestions for Library Buildings and Programs and Services. Please see attached. IX. OLD BUSINESS None. X. NEW BUStNESS A brief description of roles and responsibilities were discussed for the Architect Review Board. Erica Richey volunteered to be on the Architect Interview Board. The Design Team Board Member selections,one each for powntown and Highlands Facilities, have been postponed until the next meeting. XI. INFORMATION None. XI1.
