Our fence, if approved by the special fence permit, will use cedar wood and black
powder-coated metal for the framing (driveway and walk in gate). Due to grading, privacy is
hard with neighbors to our south whose properties are several feet higher than ours. We
currently have a row of trees (planted by previous owners) to provide privacy against the
property line with 9218 200th St, however, due to their fence being built right along the property
line as well, the needed trimming to prevent damage to their fence provides little privacy. Our
neighbors on 9206 200th St property line is a retaining wall that we have rebuilt for this project.
There are nine feet between the retaining wall and the house, preventing landscaping, such as
trees, from building privacy without becoming a risk of damaging the house. This fence will also
help prevent attempted break ins. Since we purchased the house in May 2018 there have been
four attempted break ins that we are aware of. Due to our offset from the street, if they had been
successful, no one would have noticed. We’re hoping that the fence will prevent these incidents.
