• Renton History Museum Manager Elizabeth Stewart was given the Willard 1ue Memorial
Award for Staff by the Association of King County Historical Organizations (AKCHO) last
week. The Willard Jue Award is presented to individuals who have made outstanding
contributions to heritage organizations and provided exceptional leadership and spirit of
service. Liz has headed up the Renton History Museum for 11 years.
• Saturday, May 6th, 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. The Department of Ecology and the Don't Drip and
Drive Program* are offering free auto leak detection workshops to the public at Renton
Technical College. Drivers can learn basic car care and get a free oil leak inspection at the
workshop. Classes are valued at $125 and will cover basic car systems, vital fluids, belts,
hoses, filters, and much more. Inspections are conducted by certified automotive
instructors. Registration is available online at https:jJfixcarleaks.or�/workshop-events.
*The "Don't Drip and Drive Program" is a regional partnership of local jurisdictions, schools
and repair shops.

✓ Monday, May 1st through Friday, May 5th, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Intermittent lane
closures at Lake Washington Blvd just north of Houser Way North/Gene Coulon Park
due to grinding and asphalt overlay of the roadway. Questions may be directed to Brad

✓ Monday, May 1st through Friday, May 5th, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Northbound lane
closure on Union Avenue NE near NE 27th Place due to utility construction. Questions
may be directed to Brad Stocco at 425-282-2373.
✓ Monday, May 1st through Friday, May 5th, 8:30 a.m.to 3:30 p.m. Additional truck
traffic and hauling will occur in the vicinity of Valley Medical Hospital related to the
construction of the new parking garage. Questions may be directed to Tom Main at

✓ Monday, May 1st through Friday, May 5th. Northbound and southbound nighttime
lane restrictions and closures along SR 167 and I-405 are scheduled this week related to
the I-405/SR 167 Interchange Direct Connector Project. More detaited information
about these restrictions and closures is available tonight on the back table. The
information outlines specific dates and times of the closure. Questions may be directed

of this project SR 515 (Talbot Road South) will be closed between the southbound I-405
off-ramp and the northbound I-405 on-ramp Monday, May 29th from 10:00 p.m. to 4:30
a.m.
✓ Monday, May 1st through Sunday, May 7th. Road closure on South 14th Street
between Smithers Avenue South through Davis Avenue South for utility construction.

✓ Monday, May 1st through Sunday, May 7th. The two west lanes on Main Street
between 2nd and 3rd will be closed for project improvements while the east lanes will
be open for traffic flow. The on-site inspector is Todd Freih, 206-999-1832.
✓ Monday, May 1st through Sunday, May 7th. Lane closures due to road construction for
the 2nd and Main Capital Improvement Project. Questions can be directed to Keith

✓ Monday, May 1st through approximately Thursday, May 18th. Intermittent curb lane
closures both eastbound and westbound along SW Sunset Blvd between Oakesdale
Avenue SW and Rainier Avenue South while crews conduct regular sewer line
maintenance. Questions may be directed to Rocky Sittner at 425-902-2004.
✓ Monday, May 1st through approximately Thursday,June 1st. Street maintenance
crews will be repaving the curb lanes in both directions along NE 4th Street between

Monroe Avenue NE and Bronson Way NE. Crews will start with the westbound direction
(May 1st through approximately May 11th)then switch direction and repave eastbound
(approximately May 15th through June 1st). Expect curb lane closures daily Mondays
through Thursdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Questions may be directed to John

✓ Monday, May 1st through approximately Friday,lune 30th. South 2nd Street, east of
and adjacent to the intersection of Main Avenue South and South 2nd Street, will be
closed for a period not to exceed two months. A map showing alternative routes
through this area is available tonight on the back table. Questions may be directed to
Keith Woolley at 425-430-7318.
✓ Monday, May 1st through approximately Friday,July 14th. The intersection of NE 10th
Street and Harrington Avenue NE will be closed to accommodate construction of the
Sunset Neighborhood Park and surrounding area. A map showing alternative routes
through this area is availabte tonight on the back table. Questions may be directed to
Keith Woolley at 425-430-7318.
✓ Monday, May 1st through approximately Friday,July 28th. Complete road closure of
Harrington Avenue NE, Sunset Lane NE, and Glennwood Avenue NE for approximately
one year to accommodate the Sunset Lane NE Roadway Improvements Project. Detours
are in place. Questions may be directed to Keith Woolley at 425-430-7318.
✓ Monday, May 1st through approximately August 31st. Expect some intermittent lane
closures in the Highlands as a result of the Highlands Sewer Main and Manhole
Rehabilitation Project, between NE Sunset Blvd and NE 4th Street, from approximately I-
405 to Monroe Avenue NE. Lining of the sewer mains is expected to be completed by
July 1st; however, rehabilitation of some manholes witl continue through August 31st.

✓ Monday, May 1st through Friday, September 29th. Full road closure on Harrington
between Sunset Lane NE and Harrington Avenue NE as well as a full road closure on
Harrington Avenue NE between NE 10th Street and Sunset Lane NE will be in place as
part of the Sunset Lane Capita) Improvement Project. Questions can be directed to
