• Ptease join us tomorrow, Tuesday,June 27th, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Piazza
Park in downtown Renton for our Kid's Day! In addition to fresh flowers and the bounty of
farm fresh produce you expect each week, we will have a Kid's Talent showcase from 3:30
to 4:30, followed by a kid-friendly cooking demonstration with WSU's Food $ense. Then at
5:30 p.m. we welcome Harmonica Pocket, brought to us by KCLS. Meet the Miss
Washington contestants; they will be shopping at the market from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
And try your hand at milking a cow! Visit Buttercup, graciously loaned to us by the Dairy
Farmers of Washington, who will be visiting at our Kid's Patch for the day.
Scheduling announcement: there will be no Renton Farmers Market on Tuesday, July 4th.

• The city is in the process of updating its Bicycle and Trails Master Plan and is interested in
public input. Please join us for an open house on Tuesday,June 27th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
at the Renton Senior Activity Center, 211 Burnett Avenue North in Renton. Questions may

• Join Renton Police Officers at one of the Coffee with a Cop events. The mission of Coffee
with a Cop is to break down the barriers between police officers and the citizens they serve
by removing agendas and allowing opportunities to ask questions, voice concerns, and get
to know the officers in your neighborhood. The next Coffee with a Cop will take place on
Wednesday, June 28th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Vince's Coffee, located at 401 Olympia
Avenue NE, Suite 102 in Renton.
• An informational meeting about the Renton Hill Utilities Improvement Project will be held
for the Renton Hill residents in the Renton City Hall Council Chambers on Thursday, June
29th from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The purpose of this meeting will be to provide residents with a
project update and schedule for the construction of utility improvements on Renton Hill,
and to obtain input from the community. Questions may be directed to Water Utility

• King County Sheriff's office has closed the Cedar River to all in-water recreation use from
Landsburg to Ron Regis Park. River closure signs will be posted on the entrance railing at
Ron Regis Park and on a post at Maplewood Roadside Park, and at the latter to alert people
who may be planning to drop off a shuttle car for a f►oat ending at that point. Sign up for

• Information about preventative street maintenance, traffic impact projects, and road
closures happening this week can be found at http://rentonwa.�ov/trafficimpacts.
Preventative street maintenance,traffic impact projects, and road closures will be at the
following locations:
✓ Monday,June 26th through Friday,lune 30th, 7:00 a.m.to 3:30 p.m. Additional truck
traffic and hauling will occur in the Vicinity of Valley Medical Hospital related to the
construction of the new parking garage. Questions may be directed to Tom Main at

✓ Monday,June 26th through Friday,June 30th, 8:30 a.m.to 3:30 p.m. The curb lanes
on North 3rd Street between Burnett Avenue North and Factory Avenue North will have
localized closures due to sidewalk panel replacement for the North 3rd Street Tree and

✓ Monday,June 26th through Friday,June 30th, 8:30 a.m.to 3:30 p.m. Northbound lane
closure on Union Avenue NE near NE 27th Place due to utility construction. Questions
may be directed to Brad Stocco at 425-282-2373.
✓ Monday,June 26th through Friday,June 30th, 8:30 a.m.to 3:30 p.m. Intermittent lane
closure on the eastbound outside lane on SE Petrovitsky Road west of 116th Avenue SE
as well as sidewalk closures in the same area due to relocation of sidewalk along SE
Petrovitsky Road. Sidewalk closed signs will be at each intersection from Benson Drive

✓ Monday,June 26th through Friday,June 30th. Northbound and southbound nighttime
lane restrictions and closures along SR 167 and I-405 are scheduled this week related to
the I-405/SR 167 Interchange Direct Connector Project. More detailed information
about these restrictions and closures is available tonight on the back table. The
information outlines specific dates and times of the closure. Questions may be directed

✓ Monday,June 26th through Sunday,July 2nd. Road closure on South 14th Street
between Smithers Avenue South and Davis Avenue South for utility construction.

✓ Monday,June 26th through Sunday,luly 2nd. Lane closures due to road construction
for the 2nd and Main Capital Improvement Project. Questions can be directed to Keith

✓ Monday,June 26th through Friday,June 30th approximately 7:00 a.m.to 4:00 p.m.
Intermittent southbound lane c�osures will occur on Oakesdale Avenue SW at Monster
Road SW to allow street maintenance crews to repair concrete. Questions may be
directed to Street Maintenance Supervisor John Kalmbach at 425-766-6183.
✓ Monday,June 26th, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Utility maintenance crews will be repairing
manholes and repaving the affected locations along NE 4th Street between Union
Avenue NE and Olympia Avenue NE. Expect intermittent westbound lane closures in
this location. Questions may be directed to Kevin Hiatt at 425-902-2004.
✓ Tuesday, June 27th approximately 9:00 a.m.to 3:00 p.m. Utility maintenance crews
will be closing the westbound curb lane of NE 4th Street between Queen Avenue NE and
Olympia Avenue NE for utility manhole repairs. Questions may be directed to Utility

✓ Wednesday,June 28th approximately 6:30 to 10:00 p.m. Intermittent lane closures at
the intersection of SW 7th Street and Lind Avenue SW will be in effect beginning at 6:30
p.m. so the contractor can make adjustments to utility structure covers. Questions may

✓ Monday,June 26th through approximately Thursday,June 29th, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Street maintenance crews will be repairing pavement in both directions along Rainier
Avenue North between Airport Way South and West Perimeter Road. Expect
intermittent lane closures daily Mondays through Thursdays. Questions may be

✓ Monday,lune 26th through approximately Friday, June 30th. South 2nd Street, east of
and adjacent to the intersection of Main Avenue South and South 2nd Street, will be
closed for a period not to exceed two months. A map showing alternative routes
through this area is available tonight on the back table. Questions may be directed to

✓ Monday,June 26th through approximately Friday,July 14th. The intersection of NE
10th Street and Harrington Avenue NE will be closed to accommodate construction of
the Sunset Neighborhood Park and surrounding area. A map showing alternative routes
through this area is available tonight on the back table. Questions may be directed to

✓ Monday,June 26th through approximately Friday,July 28th. Complete road closure of
Harrington Avenue NE, Sunset Lane NE, and Glennwood Avenue NE for approximately
one year to accommodate the Sunset Lane NE Roadway Improvements Project. Detours

✓ Monday,June 26th through approximately August 31st. Expect some intermittent lane
closures in the Highlands as a result of the Highlands Sewer Main and Manhole
Rehabilitation Project, between NE Sunset Blvd and NE 4th Street, from approximately I-
405 to Monroe Avenue NE. Lining of the sewer mains is expected to be completed by
July 1st; however, rehabilitation of some manholes will continue through August 31st.

✓ Monday,June 26th through approximately Friday, September 1st. The City of Kent will
be conducting a pavement rehabilitation project along 80th Avenue South between
South 194th Street and South 190th Street. This project is near the City of Renton
border. Lane reductions and/or closures may impact Renton residents. A map of the
affected area is available tonight on the back table. Questions may be directed to City

✓ Monday,June 26th through Friday, September 29th. Full road closure on Harrington
between Sunset Lane NE and Harrington Avenue NE as well as a full road closure on
Harrington Avenue NE between NE 10th Street and Sunset Lane NE will be in place as
part of the Sunset Lane Capital Improvement Project. Questions can be directed to

✓ Monday, June 26th through August 2018, 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Additional
construction traffic due to the construction of Sartori Elementary School at the 300
