QUITCLAIM DEED
'! THIS INDENTURE made and entered into this ZL1/1 day of September, 1956, by
er er and between PUGET SOUND POWER & LIGHT COMPANY, a Massachusetts corporation, as party
of the first part, and CITY OF RENTON, a municipal corporation of the State of Wash-
ington, as party of the second part,
WITNESSETH :
That the party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of One
Dollar ($1.00) and other valuable considerations, receipt 'of which is hereby ac-
knowledged, does hereby convey and quit claim to the party of the second part,
subject to the exceptions, conditions and reservations hereinafter stated, the
following described land located in City of Renton, King County, Washington, for
a public highway, to-wit :
Beginning at the Southwest corner of the Northeast quarter of
the Northeast quarter of Section 19, Township 23 North, Range
5 E.W.M.; thence South�3°55154"West a distance of 250 feet;
thence South 89°52'07" East a distance of 30 feet to a point
on the E. margin of 96th Avenue South;✓thence in a northerly
direction along the E. margin of 96th Avenue South produced
north to a point of intersection with the South margin of Grady
Way; thence along the South margin of Grady Way in a south-
westerly direction to a point of intersection with the west
margin of 96th Avenue South produced North; thence in a
southerly direction along the west margin of 96th Avenue South
produced North to a point of intersection with the North margin
-1) of South 148th Street; thence East along the North margin of
South 148th Street to the point of beginning.
The party of the first part reserves to itself, its successors and assigns

k1 forever, the right and privilege to install, maintain and operate electric trans-
mission and distribution lines, communication and signal lines along, over, and
across the parcel of land above described as fully and to the same extent as if
this conveyance had not been made and given; provided, however, the poles and y
electric lines erected upon such highway shall be so placed as not to interfere
unreasonably with the use of said land for highway purposes.
If any part of the land above described shall be abandoned by the party of
the second part or cease to be used as a public highway, or the route of this
highway be changed, then all rights granted to the city under this deed to such

portion or portions of the premises abandoned or not used shall immediately cease
and terminate and this deed shall be of no further force or effect as to such
abandoned portion, and such portion of said right-of-way so abandoned or not used
shall automatically, and without notice, revert to the party of the first part, its
successors and assigns.
It is understood that the right of way hereby conveyed to the Grantee is now
crossed by certain electric lines of Grantor which are used by Grantor in its
business as an electric public utility company. If the Grantor, its successors
or assigns, shall at any time be denied a franchise or right to maintain and operate
said electric lines across said highway and if the Grantor on account thereof is
compelled to remove its electric facilities from said highway, then in that event
the Grantee by the acceptance of this conveyance hereby agrees to indemnify the
Grantor, its successors or assigns, in the amount which shall be reasonably expended
in relocating said facilities.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF the party of the first part has caused this instrument to
be executed in its corporate name by its proper officers thereunto duly authorized
and its corporate seal to be affixed the day and year hereinabove first mentioned.

and Assistant Secretary, respectively, of PUGET SOUND POWER & LIGHT COMPANY,
the corporation that executed the within and foregoing instrument, and acknow—
ledged said instrument to be the free and voluntary act and deed of said cor—
poration for the uses and purposes therein mentioned, and on oath stated that
they were authorized to execute said instrument and that the seal affixed is r,
the corporate seal of said corporation.
