Dear Jack*
(67
This is to advise you that we had a discussion with Mr. Hugh White'
in answer to our letter of October 22 of which you have copies.
Mr. White orally indicated that he is now willing to settle on
the City's appraisal, namely the sum of $2,000.00, which corresponds
CIwith the amount of damage to his property as determined by Mr. •
Wallin. Re has also indicated orally that the City may go ahead
now with the construction project. However, he wishes to impose
one stipulation in connection with this transaction providing for
the vacation of the unused portion of the road below so that portion .
of said property will revert to him., This will then provide him
with proper access whtch:.bsclaims is needed.
If that condition is acceptable to the City, we suggest that you
prepare the necessary deed of the area taken so that he and Mrs.
White can execute same without delay. The City at that time will k
also have to pay the consideration for conveyance. Simultaneously
- , bittilL, ,;
you could also furnish him with a petition for vacation if that
should be acceptable to the City end in its best interest. Apparently
kr. White is the only abutting owner involved.
Y You may Undoubtedly 4ib to discuss this matter: with members of the
Council but we seriously suggest that it should be expedited so that
the matter may be completed at an early date. '
