CREATIVE ECONOMY
Film is a vital part of Washington's creative economy. It represents new areas of job growth
including gaming, mobile technology, social media, creative services, design, and more. Digital
storytelling methods and growing consumption are dictating the way forward at a record pace.
A ubiquitous proliferation of digital devices and streaming choices has made content creation
paramount to the success of businesses, nonprofits and government.
From Fortune 100 companies to small local businesses, an increasing number of organizations
rely on the film industry infrastructure to help grow and sustain their businesses in the new
digital environment. With a strong creative economy, all sectors experience growth and
prosperity. New business and jobs are created, while other businesses and jobs are preserved.
Seattle Film Summit is focused on forging a more competitive, creative industry in the state by
creating partnerships across all sectors.
Through its programs, partnerships, and services, SFS provides an important conduit for
storytellers, content generators, innovators, and leaders to thrive.
