4.EcologyapprovestheMWS-LinearModularWetlandStormwaterTreatmentSystemunitsforBasic,Phosphorus,andEnhancedtreatmentatthehydraulicloadingratelistedabove.Designersshallcalculatethewaterqualitydesignflowratesusingthefollowingprocedures:•WesternWashington:Fortreatmentinstalledupstreamofdetentionorretention,thewaterqualitydesignflowrateisthepeak15-minuteflowrateascalculatedusingthelatestversionoftheWesternWashingtonHydrologyModelorotherEcology-approvedcontinuousrunoffmodel.•EasternWashington:fortreatmentinstalledupstreamofdetentionorretention,thewaterqualitydesignflowrateisthepeak15-minuteflowrateascalculatedusingoneofthethreemethodsdescribedinChapter2.2.5oftheStormwaterManagementManualforEasternWashington(SWMMEW)orlocalmanual.•EntireState:Fortreatmentinstalleddownstreamofdetention,thewaterqualitydesignflowrateisthefull2-yearreleaserateofthedetentionfacility.5.TheseuseleveldesignationshavenoexpirationdatebutmayberevokedoramendedbyEcology,andaresubjecttotheconditionsspecifiedbelow.Ecolo2y’sConditionsofUse:Applicantsshallcomplywiththefollowingconditions:1.Design,assemble,install,operate,andmaintaintheMWS—LinearModularWetlandStormwaterTreatmentSystemunits,inaccordancewithModularWetlandSystems,Inc.applicablemanualsanddocumentsandtheEcologyDecision.2.EachsiteplanmustundergoModularWetlandSystems,Inc.reviewandapprovalbeforesiteinstallation.ThisensuresthatsitegradingandslopeareappropriateforuseofaMWS—LinearModularWetlandStormwaterTreatmentSystemunit.3.MWS—LinearModularWetlandStormwaterTreatmentSystemmediashallconformtothespecificationssubmittedto,andapprovedby,Ecology.4.TheapplicanttestedtheMWS—LinearModularWetlandStormwaterTreatmentSystemwithanexternalbypassweir.Thisweirlimitedthedepthofwaterflowingthroughthemedia,andthereforetheactivetreatmentarea,tobelowtherootzoneoftheplants.ThisGULDappliestoMWS—LinearModularWetlandStormwaterTreatmentSystemswhetherplantsareincludedinthefinalproductornot.5.Maintenance:Therequiredmaintenanceintervalforstormwatertreatmentdevicesisoftendependentuponthedegreeofpollutantloadingfromaparticulardrainagebasin.Therefore,Ecologydoesnotendorseorrecommenda“onesizefitsall”maintenancecycleforaparticularmodel/sizeofmanufacturedfiltertreatmentdevice.•Typically,ModularWetlandSystems,Inc.designsMWS-LinearModularWetlandsystemsforatargetprefiltermedialifeof6to12months.•Indicationsoftheneedformaintenanceincludeeffluentflowdecreasingtobelowthedesignflowrateordecreaseintreatmentbelowrequiredlevels.•Owners/operatorsmustinspectMWS-LinearModularWetlandsystemsforaminimutTioftwelvemonthsfromthestartofpost-constructionoperationtodeterminesite-specific
