The following briefly describes the application and the necessary Public Approvals. DATE OF NOTICE OF APPLICATION: December 4, 2019 PROJECT NAME/NUMBER: PR19-000002 Parks, Recreation, and Natural Areas Plan Update / LUA19-000299 PROJECT LOCATION: City-Wide APPLICANT/PROJECT CONTACT PERSON: Chip Vincent, City of Renton / 1055 S Grady Way, Renton, WA 98057/ cvincent@rentonwa.gov LOCATION WHERE APPLICATION MAY BE REVIEWED: Applicant documents are available online through the City of Renton Document Center website. See also http://bit.ly/2DHFZsh PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The City is updating its 2011 Parks, Recreation and Natural Areas Plan. The 2011 Plan established a 20-year vision for Renton’s park system and identified the community’s priorities. In the past eight years, the City has worked with partners to build new features like the Meadow Crest Playground and the bridge at Riverview Park, make key land acquisitions, and explore new neighborhood-focused programming. Since 2011, Renton has grown to be more diverse and dynamic than ever. The updated Plan carries forward the community’s vision; re - evaluates needs and priorities; gauged interest in existing events and programs; and identifies partnership opportunities. DATE OF APPLICATION: November 25, 2019 NOTICE OF COMPLETE APPLICATION: December 4, 2019 OPTIONAL DETERMINATION OF NON-SIGNIFICANCE (DNS): As the Lead Agency, the City of Renton has determined that significant environmental impacts are unlikely to result from the proposed project. Therefore, as permitted under the RCW 43.21C.110, the City of Renton is using the Optional DNS process to give notice that a DNS is likely to be issued. Comment periods for the project and the proposed DNS are integrated into a single comment period. There will be no comment period following the issuance of the Threshold Determination of Non-Significance (DNS). This may be the only opportunity to comment on the environmental impacts of the proposal. A 14-day appeal period will follow the issuance of the DNS. PERMITS/REVIEW REQUESTED: Environmental (SEPA) Review OTHER PERMITS WHICH MAY BE REQUIRED: None REQUESTED STUDIES: None PUBLIC HEARING: No public hearing is scheduled at the time of this posting. CONSISTENCY OVERVIEW: Environmental Documents that Evaluate the Proposed Project: Environmental (SEPA) Checklist Development Regulations Used For Project Mitigation: The project will be subject to the City’s SEPA ordinance, and other applicable codes and regulations as appropriate. Proposed Mitigation Measures: No mitigation measures are proposed at the time of this posting. Comments on the above application must be submitted in writing to Angie Mathias, Long Range Planning Manager; CED – Planning Division, 1055 South Grady Way, Renton, WA 98057, by 5:00 PM on December 18, 2019.
