In order for street improvements to qualify for Arterial..
Street Funds, the improvement must be listed in the City's Six
Year Construction Program and the street must be designated an
Arterial by Resolution. The City has updated its Six Year Con-
struction Program from time to time; but it has failed to keep
the Arterial Street Resolution in line with the arterials as
listed in the construction program. To correct this situation,
it is the recommendation of the Engineering Department that the
City's Arterial Street Resolution that was adopted in 1963 be
updated to include streets that are listed as arterials in the
City's Six Year Construction Program.

Resolution to be adopted by the City Council. You apparently were in
error when you stated that the Attorney General had ruled that no
public hearing was necessary since, as far es we have been able to
ascertain, a public hearing must be held on these amendments and
modifications according to langugage of RCW 35.77.010. The date of
the public hearing should then be inserted in the body of the Res/ution.

WHEREAS the City of Renton has heretofore adopted a Comprehensive Six Year
Street Program pursuant to Chapter 195 of. the 1961 Session Laws, which Program has
heretofore been amended from time to time, after public hearing thereon, and
WHEREAS the City, by andthrough its City Engineer and Traffic Engineer
have heretofore proposed certain revisions, modifications and amendment to. said Six
Year Comprehensive Program, and keeping in mind the provisions of Chapter 83 of the
Extraordinary Session Laws of 1967, particular reference being made to RCW 35.77.010,
and
WHEREAS a public hearing has been held on said proposed revisions, modific^—
tions, and amendments pursuant to public notice published and posted as required by
law, and such hearing having been held on July 15 ,. 1968, in the Council Chambers of
the City of Renton, at 8:00 P,M.,. and all parties having been heard in support thereof
or in opposition thereto at said public hearing; NW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, AS FOLLCfaS:
SECTION I; The aforesaid recitals andfindings are hereby found to be true
and correct in all respects. The City's Comprehensive Street Program for the ensuing
six years, as annually reviewed and modified, is hereby adopted, and a copy thereof
labeled "Exhibit A" is incorporated herein, and made a. part hereof as if fully set for'-'
Said six year Comprehensive Street Program, as so amended, shall be and constitute
City's Comprehensive Program until reviewed annually thereafter.
SECTION II: A copy of said Comprehensive Street Program, as amended and
reviewed, shall be filed with the Director of Highways not more than 30 days after
adoption of this Resolution, together with a certified copy hereof.

error when you stated that the Attorney General had ruled that no
public hearing was necessary since, as far as we have been able to
ascertain, a public hearing must be held on these amendments and
modifications according to langugage of RCW 35.77.010. The date of
the public hearing should then be inserted in the body of the Reshution.
