Tr:ail:crossing is identified in their RR crossing:database.At:the conclusion of the meeting,the UTC fOlksi stated that there:
is nothing the City needs to do at this time.They will discuss proper safety:signage with BNSF..So:that was good news.:
The:US DOT CrossingNumber for the location,is 098960X.Save this number for:fut:ure use (and attachment): Perhaps
• there should be a discussion with_Tim Moore to add this info into the City's:GIS for easier access:in the future..Every :. • - •
crossing over a:RR in the City limits should have a unique US DOT crossing number. . . .
-- So:what caused the:issue? It appears to me that the issue was with-the coordinates of the crossing location:in the RR : . _
• crossing database (maintained:by Federal Rail Authority). Both the UTC and RR personnel.check RR crossings and. . :•
periodically complete.a US•DOT RR Crossing form:These forms.are used to update the database.•Every.crossing should .
have a tag with the US DOT RR Crossing•numb'er. Of course,we could not find one_at:th•is location.So we walked the
tracks.and observed a number of closed ped crossings.and'one public roadway crossing with a tag:listing the US DOT:RR
crossing number.Working backwards from that location,the UTC folks agreed with our conclusion that the US DOT:RR
. ,:Crossing Number assigned to the Springbrook;Trail crossing is 098960X.The bottom line is that the City does not need to.
submit any paperwork to.the UTC forthis location. - • :: . _ -
It was not perfectly clear tome and Gregg if we would receive anything in writing from the UTC.So we shall wait•and .

Derek dug up the following information from:the FRA web site. Maybe this will help in getting Rick the information he . •

The crossing number is probably 098960X. There.is a:problem matching the.rail Milepost and the GIS data (this location
:, wasn't mapped)...I will give you hard copy of the 2014 U.S::DOT CROSSING INVENTORY:FORM for this crossing. It was ::
evidentlyestablished sometime around 1988;•There.are.16 random reports.since•that time. The.FRA data declares the
crossing open:: .

Community Services:replaced the concrete approaches back in 2010. I believe, butthiswork did not includethe track

Larry,this is the first notice I received of the problem,from the State Utilities and Transportation Commission (UTC) back
on Sept.6. I responded:to them that this is not a new crossing, but rather has been in place for 30years.The attachment
includes an aerial map and photos.
