Cut Slopes While onsite, rep observed south slopes of the cut slopes to be near vertical and covered in plastic sheeting. Rep observed that the east slopes of the excavation were near a 0.75:1 (H:V) slope. Although over -steepened, slopes are stable in current configuration and stable to work within. The contractor is responsible for providing all safety measures in accordance with state and federal regulation. Rep observed that contractor had sloped the southeast corner of the footing excavation to a 1:1 (H:V). Test pH of Stormwater Rep took pH tests to determine the pH of stormwater. In the filled baker tanks rep observed <25 NTU in two baker tanks. Rep observed that contractor added dry ice to lower the pH level. Rep observed that pH level was contained onsite. Footings Excavations Rep observed contractor use a medium sized excavator to excavate and the building footings. Rep recommended and observed that contractor was over -excavating footings —4" from designed footing grade Rep recommended that contractor backfill and place a Y-4" lift of clean crushed rock for the footing subgrade to increase stability during wall construction.
