Olympic Pipeline Relocation Project
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: WSDOT plans to reconstruct the northbound 1-405/SR 167 interchange in
Renton as part of the WSDOT 1-405/SR 167 Interchange Direct Connector Project. WSDOT also plans to complete a
stream restoration project on the portion of Rolling Hills Creek that is located in the wetland area east of SR 167, just
south of the interchange. To facilitate WSDOT's proposed project, Renton, through their Franchise Agreement authority
with Olympic, has requested that Olympic relocate the section of pipeline that is parallel to SR 167 to the east of its
current location, and has agreed that the existing pipeline can be decommissioned in place. WSDOT also has requested
that Olympic relocate the section of pipeline that is parallel to 1-405 to a new alignment south of its current location, and
requires that the existing pipeline be removed to accommodate mass grading activities in early 2017.
