Note: If Provider is a new vendor to City of Renton, a City of Renton Vendor Setup Form must be completed and
received by the City of Renton before payment can issue.
City of Renton will make payment as follows: One hundred percent on , 2020, if this Professional
Speaker Agreement has been fully executed; if a completed Vendor Set Up Form is on file with the City and was
received by the City at least 30 days prior to such date; and if Provider provides Engagement in compliance with this
Professional Speaker Agreement. Otherwise, the City of Renton will issue payment within 30 days after receipt of the
fully executed Professional Speaker Agreement and the completed Vendor Set Up Form and if Provider provides
Engagement in compliance with this Agreement.
Insurance:
Evidence of liability insurance coverage, with the City of Renton named as an Additional Insured, is required.
X Evidence of liability insurance coverage is waived by Risk Management and is not required.
The City of Renton doesnotrepresent thatany required minimum insurance, or waiver of such insurance, is adequate
to protect Provider from financial liability created by Providers acts or omissions.

OVERVIEW
QLaw Foundation of Washington is a nonprofit organization which promotes the dignity and respect of LGBTQ+
Washingtonians within the legal system through advocacy, education, and legal assistance. Our work is driven by the vision of
a world in which no LGBTQ+ person will face additional barriers to authentic living, access to justice, or equality before the law
because of their queer identity. QLaw Foundation achieves its goals through providing legal assistance and community-
centered legal education to LGBTQ+ communities, advocating for LGBTQ+ communities in local and state government, and
providing trainings on LGBTQ+ inclusion for employers, community organizations, and legal services organizations.
QLaw Foundation of Washington is pleased to provide this Proposed Statement of Work to the City of Renton in support of its
LGBTQ+ inclusion goals.
Training Overview
TOTAL ESTIMATED TIME: 2.5 hours (9:00am-11:30am)
Objective: To increase understanding and awareness of LGBTQ+ inclusion issues specific to City of Renton workplaces and
improve managerial competency and familiarity with supporting LGBTQ+ employees and the public.
Audience: Approximately 100 City of Renton employees
Tactic Specific Tasks
Initial Engagement
Est. Length: 15 minutes
Introductions
Housekeeping (breaks, questions, etc)
Obtain anonymized input from attendees regarding facts/stereotypes about LGBTQ+
individuals/communities

How: participants respond to a small number of questions or prompts on index cards, with the
goal of allowing participants to share their knowledge around facts vs. stereotypes of LGBTQ+
communities.
Overview Presentation
Est. Length: 30 minutes
Provide basic information about LGBTQ+ communities (e.g., history, terminology,
demographics), emphasizing values of learning, intersectionality of LGBTQ+ identities
with other aspects of identity, honoring experiences, and flexibility around cultural
norms.
How: Powerpoint presentation with Q&A
Problem-Solving Common Workplace
Issues Presentation
Est. Length: 90 minutes
Discuss setting a tone of overall professionalism and commonality of experiences (15
min)
Provide information about common issues that arise around LGBTQ+ employees and
managerial responsibilities/best practices (e.g., employees transitioning on the job,
relationships/marriage, family structures and needs, unconventional gender
presentations, navigating interpersonal differences, intersections with other
cultural/race equity practices (45 min)
Provide basic legal information (very basic NOT legal advice or meant to protect City
from potential liability) (15 min)
Group problem-solving using hypothetical scenarios (15 min)
How: Discussion-oriented, guided by powerpoint
Q&A/Open Discussion Period
Est. Length: 15 minutes
Open discussion of unanswered questions, what-ifs, how-come-they-dos, and other
questions
How: have open question box throughout the morning for people to write anonymous
questions; open up to questions raised over the course of the morning.

Tables in rounds (to facilitate small group discussion)
2 handheld microphones (one for presenter, one for audience)
Projector and screen visible to all participants (please let me know ASAP if this is not doable)
