Supplementary Report:
At the client’s request, ESNW rep was onsite to observe footing subgrade.
Footing Excavation
Rep observed contractor use a medium sized excavator to excavate native brown silty sand with gravel material.
The trenches for cast-in-place walls measured approximately 2.5’ x 4’ with a 6’’ lift of pea gravel at the bottom.
While onsite, rep used a ½” steel t-probe and observed the footing subgrade located along the eastern margin of
the site. Rep observed the footing subgrade to be very dense, firm, unyielding, and suitable for support of the
proposed cast-in-place wall.
Water Main Tie-In
Rep observed City of Renton officials and Rino Construction representatives excavating the area around the water
main to tie-in site utilities. Water main to be backfilled with 5/8’’ minus crushed rock and covered with a steel plate
until backfill.
ESNW rep will return to observe earthwork activities when requested by client

Temporary Stormwater Pond
Rep observed temporary stormwater pond immediately South of the site entrance had been filled in with native
material from the main stockpile for export in order to clear space for footing excavation along the East margin of
the site. Contractor relayed that Temporary stormwater pond will be excavated and filled in with 1’ lifts of
compacted native material at a later date after the bulk of the stockpiled material has been exported.
ESNW rep will return to observe earthwork activities when requested by client

Supplementary Report:
At the client’s request, ESNW rep was onsite to observe slope stability and test stormwater pH
Cut Slopes
While onsite, rep observed slopes of the cut slopes to be near vertical. Rep observed that the north slopes of the
excavation were near a 0.75:1 (H:V) slope. Although over-steepened, slopes are stable in current configuration
and stable to work within. The contractor is responsible for providing all safety measures in accordance with state
and federal regulation
Test pH of Stormwater
Rep took pH tests to determine the pH of stormwater. The baker tank was not filled and did not require sewer
discharge. Rep observed that pH level was contained onsite.
ESNW rep will return to observe earthwork activities when requested by client
