A Master Application has been filed and accepted with the Department of Community & Economic Development (CED) –
Planning Division of the City of Renton. The following briefly describes the application and the necessary Public Approvals.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The applicant, Walmart Stores, Inc, is proposing to construct a 1,330 sq. ft. addition
and covered parking area for their online grocery pickup service (OGP). The existing 150,158 sq. ft. building is located on
a 12.2 acre site at 743 Rainier Ave S (APN 1923059048). The subject parcel is locate d in the Commercial Arterial (CA)
zone and the proposed addition and parking area would be located on the north side of the building. The proposal also
includes the addition of four new uncovered stalls and six new covered stalls to be utilized by online grocery pick up
customers. As a whole, the proposed project would result in a net loss of 15 parking stalls due to the building addition.
New directional signage is also proposed within the existing parking lot in order to guide customers to the pickup
location. Multiple landscape islands are proposed for removal in order to construct a new drive aisle and is estimated to
result in the loss of five (5) trees. The applicant estimates that the project would create a total of 1,425 sq. ft. of new
impervious surface. The site is located within a High Seismic Hazard. The applicant submitted a Drainage Report, Traffic
Impact Analysis, and Environmental Checklist with the application.

OPTIONAL DETERMINATION OF NON-SIGNIFICANCE (DNS): As the Lead Agency, the City of Renton has determined that
significant environmental impacts are unlikely to result from the proposed project. Therefore, as permitted under the
RCW 43.21C.110, the City of Renton is using the Optional DNS process to give no tice that a DNS is likely to be issued.
Comment periods for the project and the proposed DNS are integrated into a single comment period. There will be no
comment period following the issuance of the Threshold Determination of Non-Significance (DNS). This may be the only
opportunity to comment on the environmental impacts of the proposal. When the DNS becomes appealable, the appeal
period will be 14 days.
