Supplementary Report:
At the client’s request, ESNW rep was onsite to observe slab backfill, water line backfill and earthwork activities.
Slab Backfill
While onsite, rep observed contractor use a medium sized excavator to place material for slab backfill. Rep
observed contractor place native gray silty sand with gravel material for the slab. Rep will return tomorrow, July
7, 2020, to observe and test the compaction of the slab backfill.
Water Line Backfill
Rep observed the prior to arrival that contractor had used a medium sized excavator to excavate a water line
trench (W8’xL8’xD5’) at the southwest corner of the site. Rep observed that excavation was intended for the
water line tie in. Contractor expressed plans to continue water line backfill tomorrow.
ESNW rep will return to observe earthwork activities when requested by client

contractor place native gray silty sand with gravel material for the slab in 6” lifts and compaction with a jumping
jack. Rep took compaction tests and observed material to be adequate of at least 95% of its maximum dry density
(130.7 lbs./cu. ft.).
Water Line Backfill
Rep observed the prior to arrival that contractor had used a medium sized excavator to tie in the water line at the
southwest corner of the site. Contractor expressed plans to continue water line backfill tomorrow, July 8, 2020.
