THE EXISTING LIFT STATIONS SHALL NOT BE PERMANENTLY TAKEN OUT OF SERVICE, UNTIL THE LIFT STATION CONSTRUCTED UNDER THIS CONTRACT HAS BEEN INSTALLED, TESTED, AND APPROVED IN WRITING BY THE OWNER. 15. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND THE METHODS, TECHNIQUES, SEQUENCES AND PROCEDURES REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE WORK. SEWER FORCE MAIN CONSTRUCTION NOTES 1. FORCE MAIN TRENCH SECTION AND ALL EXCAVATED AREAS SHALL BE BACKFILLED AND COMPACTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND WITH SECTIONS 7-9.3(10) AND 7-9.3(11) OF THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS. DURING CONSTRUCTION, ALL RELEASES OF OILS, HYDRAULIC FLUIDS, FUELS, OTHER PETROLEUM PRODUCTS, PAINTS, SOLVENTS, AND OTHER DELETERIOUS MATERIALS MUST BE CONTAINED AND REMOVED IN A MANNER THAT WILL PREVENT THEIR DISCHARGE TO WATERS AND SOILS. THE CLEANUP OF SPILLS SHALL TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER OTHER WORK ON THE PROJECT.
