Supplementary Report:
At the client’s request, ESNW rep was onsite to observe and test footing backfill and observe slope stability.
Footing Backfill
ESNW Rep observed contractor backfill trenches for cast in place walls footings. Rep observed contractor backfill
with native brown silty sand with gravel material. While onsite, rep used a ½” steel t-probe and observed the
footing subgrade to be very dense, firm, unyielding, and suitable for support of the proposed footing. Rep observed
1’ lifts of native material compacted with a hoe pack and jumping jack to grade. ESNW rep observed that the
contractor had achieved minimum compaction standards of 95% or greater in areas tested.
Cut Slopes
While onsite, rep observed slopes of the cut slopes to be near vertical. Rep observed that the north slopes of the
excavation were near a 0.75:1 (H:V) slope. Although over-steepened, slopes are stable in current configuration
and stable to work within. The contractor is responsible for providing all safety measures in accordance with state
and federal regulation
ESNW rep will return to observe earthwork activities when requested by client

Supplementary Report:
At the client’s request, ESNW rep was onsite to observe and test cast in place wall backfill and observe slope
stability.
Wall Backfill
ESNW Rep observed contractor backfill around cast in place wall. Rep observed contractor backfill with native
brown silty sand with gravel material. While onsite, rep used a ½” steel t-probe and observed the subgrade to be
very dense, firm, unyielding, and suitable for support of the wall. Rep observed 1’ lifts of native material compacted
with a jumping jack to grade. ESNW rep observed that the contractor had achieved minimum compaction
standards of 95% or greater in areas tested.
Water Main Backfill
ESNW Rep observed contractor working on water main connection to the site in the SE corner. Contractor relayed
that after pressure testing is completed the trench will be backfilled with 1 ¼’’ minus recycled crushed concrete
material. Rep used a ½” steel t-probe and observed the subgrade to be very dense, firm, unyielding, and suitable
for support of the proposed water main connection.
