PORTION OF AN ALLEY, LOCATED NEAR 1300 BRONSON WAY N AND
SITUATED EAST OF GARDEN AVENUE N, WEST OF MEADOW AVENUE N,
NORTH OF BRONSON WAY N,AND SOUTH OF N 2ND STREET. (1300 BRONSON
WAY N STREET VACATION;VAC-20-001.)
WHEREAS,a proper petition for vacating a portion of right-of-way as hereinafter more
particularly described was filed with the City Clerk on July 21, 2020, and that petition was
signed by the owners representing more than two-thirds(2/3)of the property abutting upon
the street or alley to be vacated;and
WHEREAS,the City Council, by Resolution No. 4417, passed on October 5, 2020, set
October 19, 2020,at 7:00 p.m., by means of the Zoom video conferencing web application as
the time and place for a public hearing on this matter;and the City Clerk gave proper notice
of this public hearing as provided by law,and all persons were heard who appeared to testify
in favor or in opposition on this matter, and the City Council considered all information and
arguments presented to it to determine whether the vacation is in the public interest,whether
the property is not required for overall circulation of traffic within the City, and that the
requested vacation is not detrimental to the public health,safety and general welfare;and
WHEREAS, the Administrator of the Department of Community and Economic
Development has considered this petition for vacation, and has found it to be in the public
interest and for the public benefit,and that it is unlikely that injury or damage to any person

WHEREAS,on December 7,2020,the City Council determined that the vacation should
be granted and adopted the recommendation of the Department of Community and Economic
Development to set compensation at$0 for the right-of-way vacation;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The following described portion of an alley located near 1300 Bronson
Way N,to wit:
(A portion of an alley situated east of Garden Avenue N, west of Meadow
Avenue N, north of Bronson Way N,and south of N 2"d Street.)
See Exhibit A, and depicted in Exhibit B, attached hereto and made a part
hereof as if fully set forth herein,is hereby vacated.
SECTION II. Compensation is hereby set at$0 for this right-of-way vacation.
SECTION III. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect five (5) days after
publication of a summary of this ordinance in the City's official newspaper. The summary shall
consist of this ordinance's title.
A certified copy of this ordinance shall be filed with the King County Recorder's Office,
and as otherwise provided by law.

Dear Ms. Sigmund:
At the regular Council meeting of October 19, 2020 the Renton City Council held a public
hearing regarding the referenced street vacation petition. Following the close of the public
hearing, Council concurred in the staff recommendation to approve the petition to move
forward, subject to the following conditions, "Dedication of a one -foot (strip of property) on
east side to maintain 16-feet of alleyway, and Petitioner to provide an appraisal of the one -foot
(strip of property) being vacated."
Per Renton Municipal Code (RMC) 9-14-5.C: Following a recommendation for vacation after a
public hearing by the City Council or committee thereof, the petitioner shall make, or cause to
be made, an appraisal in writing by an M.A.I. or other qualified appraiser, as approved by the
City, and furnish the results thereof unto the Property & Technical Services Manager for
evaluation and recommendation to City Council for acceptance and determination of the
compensation due to the City.
Additionally, a processing fee in an amount set per the City of Renton's 2019-2020 Fee Schedule
will be due upon the City's receipt of the appraisal. If you have any questions regarding the next

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, SETTING A PUBLIC
HEARING DATE REGARDING VACATION OF A PORTION OF AN ALLEY, LOCATED
NEAR 1300 BRONSON WAY N AND SITUATED EAST OF GARDEN AVENUE N, WEST
OF MEADOW AVENUE N, NORTH OF BRONSON WAY N, AND SOUTH OF N
2ND STREET. (1300 BRONSON WAY ALLEY VACATION; VAC-20-001.)
WHEREAS, a Petition has been filed with the City Clerk on or about July 21, 2020, pursuant
to the requirements of RCW 35.79, petitioning for the vacation of a portion of a certain alley, as
hereinafter more particularly described, and the petition was signed by the owners of more than
two-thirds (2/3) of the property abutting upon a portion of the alley sought to be vacated, and
same being described in Exhibit A, and depicted in Exhibit B, attached hereto and made a part
hereof as if fully set forth herein:
(A portion of an alley located near 1300 Bronson Way and situated east of Garden
Avenue N, west of Meadow Avenue N, north of Bronson Way N, and south of N
2nd Street [the “Alley”])
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That the 19th day of October, 2020, at the hour of 7:00 P.M., is hereby fixed
as the date and time for a public hearing to consider the above-mentioned petition for vacating
the Alley; which hearing date is not more than sixty (60) nor less than twenty (20) days from the
date of passage of this resolution.
If Governor Inslee’s Proclamation 20-28 and its amendments are still in effect on October
19, 2020, the public hearing will be held by means of the Zoom video conferencing web
application which includes a local phone-in option. Public hearing testimony will be
accommodated through Zoom.

street vacation filing fee as soon as we can get it generated from our Finance Department. Also, in case
you are not aware, there is a processing fee due upon Council approval of the street vacation and
based on the appraised value of the street vacation.
Appraised value of the right-of-way (per the 2019/2020 COR Fee Schedule):
1) Less than $25,000 = $750
2) $25,000 to $75,000 = $1,250
3) Over $75,000 = $2,000
