HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity's approval for Christelle Ridge Permit ExtensionMr. Examiner, In accordance with the updated deadline of October 7, 2020, please see below for the City response to the Christelle Ridge Preliminary Plat approval extension request (LUA12-070). Staff concurs with the applicants justification for a second extension of the preliminary plat approval, which identifies challenges related to the unique site characteristics and the current COVID-19 pandemic as reasons for why the pace of work has not proceeded as originally planned. While the applicant seeks the maximum one-year extension, they identify July 2021 in their narrative as an achievable timeframe for finishing the required construction work. Therefore staff supports the extension of the Christelle Ridge Preliminary Plat approval until July 31, 2021. Extending the expiration date until the end of July of 2021 would provide an additional nine months to finish construction and the majority of an additional dry season. Staff requests a specific condition be included with any extension granted that requires the applicant to submit a detailed project schedule for the remainder of the work. The project schedule should include specific tasks, dates, and contractors utilized, and should be provided to the Current Planning Project Manager by October 31, 2020.
