HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 6004CITYOFRENTON,WASHINGTONORDINANCENO.6004ANORDINANCEOFTHECITYOFRENTON,WASHINGTON,REVISINGREGULATIONSRELATINGTOGOVERNMENTFACILITIESBYAMENDINGSUBSECTION4-2-060.GOFTHERENTONMUNICIPALCODE,AMENDINGTHEDEFINITIONOF“GOVERNMENTFACILITIES,OTHER”INSECTION4-11-070OFTHERENTONMUNICIPALCODE,ANDADDINGNEWDEFINITIONSOF“GOVERNMENTMAINTENANCEFACILITIES,OTHER”AND“GOVERNMENTOFFICE,OTHER”TOSECTION4-11-070OFTHERENTONMUNICIPALCODE,PROVIDINGFORSEVERABILITY,ANDESTABLISHINGANEFFECTIVEDATE.WHEREAS,thismatterwasdulyreferredtothePlanningCommissionforinvestigationandstudy,andthematterwasconsideredbythePlanningCommission;andWHEREAS,thePlanningCommissionheldapublichearingonSeptember16,2020,consideredallrelevantmatters,andheardallpartiesinsupportoropposition,andsubsequentlyforwardedarecommendationtotheCityCouncil;andWHEREAS,pursuanttoRCW36.70A.106,onOctober6,2020,theCitynotifiedtheStateofWashingtonofitsintenttoadoptamendmentstoitsdevelopmentregulations;NOW,THEREFORE,THECITYCOUNCILOFTHECITYOFRENTON,WASHINGTON,DOORDAINASFOLLOWS:SECTIONI.AllportionsoftheRentonMunicipalCodeinthisordinancenotshowninstrikethroughandunderlineeditsremainineffectandunchanged.SECTIONII.The“Othergovernmentofficesandfacilities”rowinsubsection4-2-060.GoftheRentonMunicipalCodeisamendedasshowninAttachmentA.4-2-060.Gisfurtheramendedbyaddingnewrowsfor“Othergovernmentmaintenancefacilities”and“Othergovernmentoffices”toreadasshowninAttachmentA.Allotherprovisionsin4-2-060.Gremainineffectandunchanged.1
ORDINANCENO.6004SECTIONIII.Thedefinitionof“GovernmentFacilities,Other”insection4-11-070oftheRentonMunicipalCodeisamendedasshownbelow.Section4-11-070isfurtheramendedtoaddnewdefinitionsinalphabeticalorderof“GovernmentMaintenanceFacilities,Other”and“GovernmentOffice,Other”toreadasshownbelow.Altotherdefinitionsin4-11-070remainineffectandunchanged.GOVERNMENTFACILITIES,OTHER:Facilitiesofanyunitofcounty,state,federal,orspecialdistrictagovernmentagencyotherthantheCity.Typesoffacilitiesincludecommunitycenters,vehicleanddriverslicensingoffices,publicworksmaintenancefacilities,courtsoflaw,schoolsupportfacilities,andothertypesofcounty,state,schooldistrict,specialdistrict,orfederalfacilities.Thisdefinitionexcludesoffices,jails,parks,transitcenters,parkand&rides,sewagetreatmentplants,schools,municipallyownedgolfcoursesorairports,4-libraries,storageofvehicles,andmaintenancefacilities,orotherusesotherwiseidentifiedin4-2-060.GOVERNMENTMAINTENANCEFACILITIES,OTHER:AfacilityusedbyagovernmentagencyotherthantheCityasaplacetomaintaintheequipmentandfacilitiesofthegovernmentagency.Itmayalsoincludethestorageofmaterialsandvehiclesusedbytheagencyduringmaintenance.GOVERNMENTOFFICE,OTHER:TheadministrativeofficesofagovernmentagencyotherthantheCity,wherethereisnodirectprovisionofservicestothepublic.Thisdoesnotincludethestorageofmaterialsorvehicles.2
