At the client's request, ESNW rep was onsite to observe and test mass fill, rockeries and earthwork activities.
Mass Fill
While onsite, rep observed contractor use two large excavators, a large dozer, and several haul trucks. Rep observed
contractor export material offsite, place and compact with native material for general fill in the northwest corner of the
site. Rep observed contractor using a large sheep's foot roller for compaction. Rep collected sample proctor of native
brown silty sand with gravel material. Rep took compaction tests and will release compaction test results once proctor
is processed.
Rockeries
Prior to arrival, rep observed that contractor had cut the keyways for the rockeries located along the east face of the
site. Rep used a'/" steel t-probe and observed the keyway subgrade to be very dense, firm, unyielding, and suitable
for support of the proposed rockeries.
ESNW rep will return to observe earthwork activities when requested by client.
