Supplementary Report:
At the client’s request, ESNW rep was onsite to observe and test power crossing backfill in Talbot Road South.
Power Crossing Backfill
ESNW arrived onsite and observed that the contractor was compacting 60’ of a 3’ deep trench grading to
approximately 6’ deep (from West to East) for a residential power crossing across Talbot Road South adjacent to
the Weatherly Inn development. Contractor placed 4’’ schedule 80 PVC pipe bedded in approximately 18’’ of
sandy import material and backfilled with 1-1/4’’ minus recycled crushed concrete compacted in 12’’ lifts to grade
with a hoe pack. ESNW rep used a ½’’ steel T-probe and found the subgrade to be suitably dense, firm, and
unyielding. ESNW rep observed that the contractor had achieved minimum compaction standards of 95%
or greater in tested locations. ESNW rep will return as requested to continue observation and testing of further
earthwork activities.
ESNW rep will return to observe earthwork activities when requested by client
