Do not click links, reply or open attachments unless you know the content is safe. Hello Mr. Olbrechts, I know you’ve been unable to read the e-mail exchanges, so this is my only opportunity to reply to contest the misinformation (in my opinion) that Ms Locher has communicated to other city officials. I agree that my appeal was a couple days late. I erred in thinking that I had 20 days to reply. The current fines and penalties are of such magnitude are enormous for me and I’m asking for some consideration. I remain physically unable to address the issues and I’ve tried to find a balance in maintaining my property without exacerbating my health issues. My cardiac health is unchanged or perhaps even weekend since last June and it’s under continuous threat from convulsive spasms caused by my arthritic hip and the stress cast upon me by Ms Locher’s office. I think it would be in everyone’s best interest to try and resolve this with a hearing. I have participated in two hearings with you and I have found your judgments to be fair and equitable given the situations. I was unable to comply with the deadlines of the second hearing because I was unaware of them until February 2nd several months after the October deadline had passed. The fines and penalties and threat of incarceration will compel me to hire a lawyer to defend myself in court against a system which has relentlessly and unfairly targeted me. I know it will probably cost me $15,000 or more to defend myself but I didn’t spend 3.5 years out of 8.5 years (1967-1975) in harms way during the Viet Nam era to submit myself to unjust and arbitrary application of Renton City codes. I can understand that your hands may tied but I seriously doubt that it will be in either parties interests to force this into municipal court. I am not a bad neighbor nor am I bad citizen. I need to safeguard my physical and mental health in order remain a good one. Respectfully, Frank R.
