D.R. Strong Tiger Mountain Homes / Mark Fury Site Works P. Cloudy 50’s
THE FOLLOWING WAS NOTED:
Associated Earth Sciences, Inc. (AESI) arrived on site in the PM in order to observe earthwork activities. Upon arrival we
met with representatives of Tiger Mountain Homes and Fury Site Works.
Site Fill:
Prior to our arrival Fury had filled for roadway (Fig 1). We were informed that fill was approximately 1’ thick comprised of
imported sand with gravel and some silt. We were informed that fill was placed in lifts 6” thick and compacted utilizing a
smooth-drummed vibratory roller. AESI completed compaction tests at depth and achieved results which meet minimum
compaction specifications (Table 1).
While we were onsite Fury removed previously failing till fill over sewer trench as referenced in AESI Field Report #003.
Fury removed 2’ thick of the backfill material until firm and unyielding backfill was encountered as assessed utilizing a ½”
diameter steel soil probe.
Storm Drain Trench Backfill:
While we were onsite we observed Fury backfill for storm drain trench from CB 2A to CB3 to the vault (Fig 2). Backfill was
approximately 5’ thick comprised of imported very gravelly sand with some silt. Backfill was placed in lifts 12-18” thick and
compacted utilizing a vibratory ho-pac. AESI completed compaction tests at various depths below final grade and
achieved results which meet minimum compaction specifications (Table 1).
AESI departed the site in the PM and will return upon request.
*Minimum 95% compaction required for passing result
