DWELLING UNIT (ADU) DESIGN PLANS (CAG 20 087)
THIS AMENDMENT, dated for reference purposes only as May 20, 2021, is by and between the
City of Renton (the a Washington municipal corporation, and Jill Sousa Architect, LLC
a Washington limited liability company. The City and the Consultant are referred
to collectively in this Amendment as the Once fully executed by the Parties, this
Amendment is effective as of the last date signed by both parties.
Whereas, the City engaged the services of the Consultant under Agreement CAG 20 087, dated
April 15, 2020, to provide architectural services for Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) plan concepts
(referred to herein as the
Whereas, the Parties wish to amend the Agreement to change the scope of work and increase
the compensation amount to reflect the additional work in order to finalize the ADU plan sets.
NOW THEREFORE, It is mutually agreed upon that CAG 20 087 is amended as follows:
1. Scope of Work: Section 1, Scope of Work, is amended to add work as specified in Exhibit
A 1, which is attached and incorporated herein.
2. Compensation: Section 4, Compensation, is amended so that the maximum amount of
compensation payable to Consultant is increased by $3,000 from $33,800 to $36,800,
plus any applicable state and local sales taxes. The additional compensation shall be paid
based upon Work actually performed according to the rate(s) or amounts specified in
Exhibit A 1, which is attached and incorporated herein.
3.All terms of the Agreement not explicitly modified herein shall remain in full force and
effect and such terms shall apply to Work performed according to this Amendment as if
fully set forth herein.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Parties have voluntarily entered into this Amendment as of the date
last signed by the Parties below.

AMMENDED SCOPE:
Additional services to be provided:
Sketchup models to be used for site plan preparation by the City of Renton. Files
to be shared with the City of Renton for this purpose.
Assistance with site plan preparation requirements.
Revisions to design of some of the ADUs to meet the IRC code requirements.
Structural engineering was determined not to be in-house as was initially
intended so the IRC would need to be followed rather than engineering the
units. Revisions to models were needed to comply with the IRC.
28 models in total, changed from 22-24 models proposed
