The Renton Regional Fire Authority will approve your variance request for the Hardy Short Plat with the
condition of the added fire sprinkler systems in both new homes. Thanks for the request. Please
remember to add this condition on the Title Sheet when you submit for construction permit.

Corey: The Hardy 2-Lot Short Plat application includes a 16-foot-wide shared driveway per City Staff
recommendation at the pre-application meeting. We understand the minimum driveway width per the
Renton Reginal Fire Authority is 20 feet.
We respectfully request that a waiver be approved for a 16-foot-wide driveway. The smaller width will
minimize the impervious area and in particular reduce the PGIS of the development by at least 376 SF.
As a form of substitution, we propose providing fire sprinkler systems for both houses in lieu of the 20'
driveway width code requirement.
We look forward to receiving your approval of this variance request. Thanks for your consideration.
