The City is legally unable to issue a Routine Vegetation Management Permit prior to short platting. Renton Municipal Code Section 4-4-430C1 states that: "There shall be no tree cutting or land clearing on any site for the sake of preparing that site for future development unless a land development permit for the site has been approved by the City". Since your short plat has not yet been approved, we cannot authorize tree cutting OR land clearing. Once the short plat is approved and recorded, or a utilities/street construction permit is issued by the city, you will be able to do the necessary clearing work without the submittal of a Routine Vegetation Management Permit Application. We apologize for any confusion and appreciate your patience. It will take approximately a month to process your refund. You will be reimbursed in full.
