Hello Everyone! I’m not sure who to send these to any more, so I’m aiming wide. *Sorry* please forward to the party in
planning who needs to review and permit.
I am requesting an exemption for an Arts Commission funded project, this mural was approved from funding at the
December 2020 meeting of the Arts Commission, pending design approval from the City. Here is the information for the
proposed mural:
1. Artist Information: Trenise ‘Tree’ Williams is a artist, organizer, volunteer and resident of Renton. Originally
from Memphis, Tennessee she organically involves herself in projects structured around social justice and the
empowerment of black people. She is professionally trained as a graphic designer and is often found branding
projects for small business owners. Her work could be interpreted as folk art that mostly utilizes acrylic paint,
collaging and digital tools. Trenise has recently participated in the Jimi Hendrix 50 mural celebration, served as a
RSD art docent and currently is the the BLM Street mural creative lead.
2. The proposed design is attached.
3. Photos of the proposed location (below): 332 Burnett Ave S (south wall facing Houser Way S)
4. (We are waiting for the signed Master application, and will forward when it has been received).
