Add the following Special Provision:
8-02.3(13) Plant Establishment

This Section is supplemented with the following:
All references to “first-year plant establishment” in this Section shall read “plant establishment.”
The second paragraph of this Section is replaced with the following:
The plant establishment period shall extend from notification of acceptance of initial planting
through physical completion of the Project.
Change to Contract Plans:
As required by Field Work Directive No 15, the Contractor is directed to delete the irrigation
system improvements on Logan Avenue, near the bridge. Plan Sheet I5.06 is deleted. The
Contractor is directed to make the following substitutions of drought tolerant plantings and to
furnish and install new plants, seeded lawn per WSDOT Standard Specification Section 8-
02.3(10) and add three slow release tree watering bags.

Contract Provisions:
The City’s Parks Department will take over the establishment of the plants within the right of way at
physical completion. This change will allow the Contract to be closed out in a timely manner.
Contract Plans:
Field investigation of the existing irrigation system near the bridge confirmed that the existing system
was not functioning and could not be connected to. There were no viable points of connection for the
new irrigation system, therefor the City decided to switch the landscaping improvements to drought
tolerant.
Materials:
Seeded Lawn per WSDOT Standard Specification Section 8-02.3(10)
Slow Release Tree Watering Bags conforming to the requirements of note 8 on Plan Sheet L6.06
Revision 1.

Estimated Change Order Cost:
This Change Order does include an equitable adjustment per Section 1-09.4 of the 2020
WSDOT/APWA Standard Specifications.
The Work will be measured and paid under the respective unit prices. The attached
Estimated Cost lists the unit bid items that are adjusted due to this change. The
adjustments to the unit bid item quantities are estimates; the Contractor will be paid
based on the actual quantities installed.

Extension of Time:
The Contractor agrees that the time for Completion is extended 0 Working Days for the
additional work.

Sections 1-04.4 and 1-04.5 of the 2020 WSDOT/APWA Standard Specifications shall govern
this Change Order. The Work of the referenced Contract is modified to include the changes
detailed herein. The payment provided for herein shall constitute the complete and final
settlement for all costs of labor, equipment, materials, overhead, profit, permit fees, and all
other claims that may be made by the Contractor as a result of this change.
