The fence is cedar dog eared panel fencing and intended to match the existing six foot cedar fence installed at the property lines between the yard and the neighboring properties. We feel that our application meets the following design considerations (justifications).  Permanent landscaping along the front of the fence; o Hedge is arborvitaes, 5ft tall, o Plants in ring, Rhododendrons, and hydrangeas  Modulation of the fence: o 6 ft. H x 8 ft. W Cedar Dog-Ear Fence Panels with gate near porch  Similar design and material as other fences in the surrounding neighborhood; o Similar to the existing fence between properties for same lot  Increased setbacks from the adjacent sidewalk: Yes  Orientation of the finished face of the fence toward the street: o Fence provides symmetry to property and house and follows sidewalk  Other: Fence is designed both for added security to property from sidewalk and prevents pets from jumping over from yard. Requesting exemption (area) for: A marginal amount of fence enters into the clear vision area based on the property lines, with an approximate 3 sf ft of the corner. As shown on our site plan, indicating the clear vision area, the protrusion of the fence into the required clear vision area and the actual clear vision area. As you’ll notice, because the of the planting strip which adds another 7 feet between the sidewalk edge to the curb, the actual clear vision line is greater than distance as shown on the Special Permit Form’s EXHIBIT 4 RECEIVED 07/28/2021 BGillia PLANNING DIVISION DocuSign Envelope ID: DCA05F3C-AAAF-4B5E-9A7B-4047006BCFA7 2 | P a g e illustrated examples. If this area is considered, the clear vision area for drivers is unobstructed with the added buffer of the distance between the curb and the and the sidewalk (the planting strip) of 7 ft, the 5 ft sidewalk width and the average 9 ft setback to the fence [a total of 21 linear ft]. We are requesting that we get a response for fees and project number as soon as possible. Or, if you agree with our assessment regarding the clear vision area and how it is improved with added width of the planting strip, that you let us know as soon as realistically possible.
