Re: Temporary No-Fee Street Use Permit
Dear Mr. Nielsen:
1
On July 17, .1978 the City Council of Renton granted you a no-fee
Special Use Permit in lieu of your requested Street Vacation of
a portion of Nelson Place. The Permit was to expire January 1 ,
' 1979. 1
i
:';` On December 20, 1978, this matter was brought before the Board
',.l of Public Works and since there has not been a determination as
to vacation of the right-of-way, the Board granted an extension
of the Special Use Permit. I
We have been advised by the Building Division that you never
applied for the Special Use Permit after the Council granted it
to you.
Please be advised that a Special Use Permit requires filing with
the City a certificate of .insurance' covering this property in
the amount of $100,000/$300,000 Personal Liability and. $50,000
Property Damage Liability so the City has no liability in the
property. The Board granted a no-fee permit for an indefinite
period of time pending resolution of the Monster Road crossing
question. Please apply for the permit to the Building Division
and furnish the certificate of insurance;
If, you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact
this office, 235-2569.

July 17 , 1978
Dear Mayor Delaurenti and Council Members :
After review of the above-referenced street vacation
petition , the Board of Public Works recommends that
this proposed vacation be held in abeyance at the
present time as it felt it would be premature in view
of the circumstances until all possibilities of that
public right-of-way have been resolved .
Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Co . requested an
easement be retained as follows : Nelson Place:
10 feet along the West side and Northwesterly side
thereof . 1
If the street vacation is denied , consideration might
be given to granting them a temporary Street Use Per-

in the interim .
