April 20, 2020 Bryan White Summit Homes of Washington 16000 Christensen Rd #303 Tukwila, WA 98188 RE: Inspection Report for Stormwater Facility #250232, 250233, 250234, 250235 Contech Stormfilters & 200037 Pond In Plat: Canyon Terrace Dear Bryan White: The City of Renton Public Works Surface Water Utility staff inspected the Canyon Terrace stormwater drainage facility and found that it currently does not meet the City of Renton’s minimum maintenance standards. This stormwater drainage facility was designed and installed during the construction of the Canyon Terrace development. The facility holds stormwater runoff and releases it slowly, to prevent flooding, and protect habitat and environmental resources in the downstream receiving waters (streams, rivers, lakes and wetlands). It also protects the water quality of natural water bodies in the City. The facility requires periodic inspection and maintenance to ensure it continues to function properly. Per the Maintenance and Defect Agreement that includes this drainage facility, it shall successfully operate and shall remain free of defects in design, workmanship, materials, and design for the two year term specified in the agreement. The City’s Private Stormwater Facility Inspection program will be conducting inspections annually, or every 6 months during the period of heaviest house construction within the «PlatName» development. Enclosed is the Maintenance Correction Report identifying maintenance action required for the Canyon Terrace drainage facility to meet City standards (Adopted 2017 City of Renton Surface Water Design Manual, Appendix A). A link to the standards is on the Surface Water Utility Engineering page on the Rentonwa.gov website. Within 60 calendar days from the date of this letter, all required maintenance is to be completed, and the Maintenance Correction Report signed and mailed to Gary Fink, Utility H:\File Sys\SWA - Surface Water Section Administration\SWA 30 - NPDES Programs\FACILITY INSPECTION\Contact Letters & Forms\Developer Templates\DNMS\DNMS email TEMP - Developer.docx\EM Systems, City of Renton, 1055 S Grady Way, Renton WA 98057, or faxed to 425-430-7241. To request a time extension for the necessary repairs to your stormwater facility, please submit your written request to Gary Fink. The request should include the expected date of completion and an explanation of the delay. Your request will be reviewed and a time extension will be granted on a case-by-case basis.
