Honorable Joe R. Baxter, Mayor
Members of the City Council
Gentlemen:
Submitted herewith is a petition for the vacation of
a street that appears to exist between Rainier Avenue and Tract
62, the site of Myers Richfield Oil Company yard.
It has been assumed that the street referred to was
a part of the State Highway Right of Way however the Engineering
Department has not ,had the opportunity to check the matter.
I recommend the petition be referred to the Street
and Alley Committee for investigation.

Dear Sir:
With reference to your letter of April 29 requesting.
that a walkway leading to Windsor Hills be vacated, may I
advise you that the City Council stated that at this time
they would take no action due to the fact that the new.
highway comes alone that area, and,.therefore, we do not
know how much of the area will be used by the State.
The City Council has suggested that you "re-'.submit
your request after :the completion of the now highway.

Gentlemen:
We understand you control a 101 wide by 60 ! long public
walkway leading from Windsor Hills to Sunset Highway and directly
north of property owned by me described as follows:--
Lot 15, block 1, Windsor Hills Addition to Renton,
Correction plat, according to plat recorded in volume
39 of plats, page 38, in King County, W shi_ngton.,
E' CIPT that portion deeded to State of Washington under
auditor ' s file i o . 4870460 for highway purposes.
The property on the north side of this walkway is owned
by the state.
This walkway is now abandoned due to State Highway ;"l
a
cutting through Windsor Hills. We understand the state have
already condemned the upper part of . this walkway.
This is to request that you abandon this remaining 10 ! x
approximate CO feet to us .
It will put it on the tax rolls and increase the visibility
' of traffic on Sunset Highway. After grading, it will add parking
space to the K & H market directly to the south.
. Yours very truly,
