Darlene Abbott, 8925 S 121st, Seattle, inquired of height for proposed building and was advised by Mayor Shinpoch that the hearing is regarding annexation. The Mayor's recommended expenditures of the funds: Park improve- ments and renovations, purchase of street sweeper and energy conservative street light luminaires; mobile radio units for security of persons and property; Library books, materials and storage units; and Debt Service for reduction of Limited and General Obligation Bond issues for Municipal Building, Senior Center and proposed City Shop Construction. Police enefits Letter from Police Lieut. Ray Caldwell petitioned for Council reconsideration of Resolution #2332 adopted 5/5/80 which was result of Police Lieutenant's previous request for equal longevity benefits and resulted in other employment benefits being slashed. The letter recalled the history of Resolution 1828 granting equality of benefits between the Guild and non- Guild members; Resolution #1998 repealed that resolution and existing benefits; Resolution 2233 restored equality and passage of Resolution 2332 reduced benefits. The letter ques- tioned City's intent, being of the belief it was not intent to reduce the then existing benefits and that if it was, that the affected employees be given an opportunity to offer justi- fication for each of the lost benefits. OLD BUSINESS Towing of Councilman Stredicke questioned towing away of automobiles Vehicles parked in various situations in the City and inquired as to revenue the City received. Police Lt. Persson advised the City receives no revenue from towed vehicles. Stredicke noted in non-emergency situations, it would be advantageous to the City to fine. illegal parking rather than\towing away vehicles. Grady Way Bridge Councilman Stredicke requested copy of Public Works Dept. report Load Limit regarding load limit on Grady Way Bridge, noting with prohibiting of trucks, it would be advantageous to re-open the Monster Rd cross- ing as trucks are forced three miles around. Mayor Shinpoch noted the load limit was causing problems with Metro by precluding use of the bridge for buses. Planning and Planning and Development Committee Chairman Rockhill submitted Development committee report recommending that the ordinance for waivers Committee and deferrals of on and off-site improvements be referred to the Ways and Means Committee.
