The City of Renton and City of Cuautla developed an official Sister City relationship in
2001. There are endless benefits to the sister-city relationship and the educational
exchanges, municipal cooperation and cultural programs have enabled our separate cities
to work together and touch the lives of our people and our communities. We are
developing very strong ties between our two cities.
Our good relations have improved the quality of life for our citizens and connected us
internationally. We sincerely hope that our good relations will continue to contribute
toward world peace, prosperity, and understanding.
At this ceremony, we commit to strengthening our future relationships between our two
cities.
In witness whereof, the following citizens and government representatives from the cities
of Cuautla and Renton have hereunto set their hands and caused the seal of the City of
Renton to be affixed this 20th day of September, 2007.

Forty years have passed since Renton and Nishiwaki forged a Sister City Affiliation on
July 11, 1969. New generations from both Renton and Nishiwaki have come to
experience the endless benefits of the sister city relationship, including educational
exchanges, municipal cooperation, and cultural programs. These cross-cultural events
have enabled our separate cities to become a unified, international community that
strives to enhance the lives of our citizens. We now have an enduring bond that ties our
two cities across the span of the Pacific Ocean.
The goodwill between Renton and Nishiwaki has improved the quality of life for the
individuals of our cities. It has also made our municipalities more viable internationally
and improved the global competitiveness of our communities. We sincerely hope that
our good relations will continue to contribute to mutual understanding and prosperity,
and above all, world harmony.
We have been honored to celebrate this momentous
40th anniversary of our sister city relationship. At this
ceremony, we vow to strengthen the relationship ` s�
