OF APPLICATION AND PUBLIC HEARING
A Master Application has been filed and accepted with the Department of Community & Economic Development (CED)
Planning Division of the City of Renton. The following briefly describes the application and the necessary Public
Approvals City Facilities are currently closed due to the ongoing state of emergency enacted by Governor’s Proclamation
20-05 therefore, a virtual/telephonic public hearing is tentatively scheduled for May 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM before the
Renton Hearing Examiner by means of the Zoom video conferencing web application which includes a phone-in option to
consider the following petition. The public is highly encouraged to attend the meeting b y using one of the methods listed
below.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The applicant, the Renton School District, is requesting Hearing Examiner Site Plan
Review and a street Modification for various site and building improvements at the Lindberg h High School campus.
Improvements proposed include a 1,630 square foot addition near the existing main entrance, a 3,030 square foot
addition near the northeast corner, renovation of existing classrooms, and the repair and resurfacing of the existing
73,650 square foot parking on the southwest portion of the site. The existing building is approximately 229,000 sq. ft. in
size and is located across three (3) parcels totaling approximately 37.25 acres. The site is located at 16426 128 th Ave SE
(APN # 2823059004, 2823059042, 2823059093) and is zoned Residential -6 (R-6) du/ac with a Comprehensive Plan Land
Use Designation of Residential Medium Density (MD). Other work proposed on the site includes HVAC system upgrades,
relocation of underground utilities near the main entrance, a full upgrade to the gymnasium (interior only), and frontage
improvements along 128th Ave NE. According to COR Maps, a high seismic hazard area and wetlands are mapped on the
site. According to the applicant, one tree would be removed as part of the project. The project would result in more
5,000 square feet of new or replaced impervious surface. The applicant submitted a Wetlands Report, Drainage Report,
Transportation Impact Analysis, and Tree Assessment with the application. The Renton School District, acting as the SEPA
lead, issued a Mitigated Determination of Non-Significance with one mitigation measure on February 23, 2022.
