PROJECT NAME: Boeing Guard Shack on Apron D
PROPOSAL: The applicant seeks a Shoreline Exemption to locate a prefabricated 382-square foot guard shack
and associated utilities. The purpose of the guard shack is to increase security on Apron D of the airport by
monitoring vehicle access across the south bridge and pedestrians on the Cedar River Trail. The work will occur
within 66 feet of the Cedar River.
PROJECT LOCATION: East of the Renton Municipal Airport runways and east of the Cedar River north of the
Boeing 5-401 Building. All work will occur east of the existing Boeing fence line.

Narrative
The project involves the installation of a 382sf. Guard House formerly utilized
as a Boeing crew shelter from Renton Field. The Guard House is a 1-story
wood structure modified by adding windows and an interior wall.
Approximately 60L.F. of trenching will be required to run utilities to the Guard
House.
The Guard House is required to increase security on Apron D by monitoring
vehicle access across the south bridge and monitoring pedestrians on the
Cedar River Trail.
The Guard House is on Boeing Company's Apron D property. It is
approximately 66LF east of the high water mark of the Cedar River. The
Guard House is north of the 5-401 building on the west side of Apron D,
The zoning of the site is Heavy Industrial.
The current use of the site and adjacent properties is as an aircraft
manufacturing, final assembly facility and pre-flight operations consisting of
many buildings and ancillary uses.
No special site features.
No site improvements are proposed to any sidewalks, sewers, hydrants etc.
Total project cost: Relocate Guard House= $ 2,000 dollars
Minimal grading and excavation required for this project.
