STRUCTURAL FILL SHALL BE PLACED IN UNIFORM LAYERS NOT EXCEEDING 12 INCHES IN THICKNESS AND COMPACTED TO A MINIMUM OF 95% OF THE SOIL MAXIMUM DRY DENSITY ACCORDING TO ASTM D-695 (MODIFIED PROCTOR). THE PROJECT GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER SHALL INSPECT AND APPROVE THE PREPARED SUBGRADE PRIOR TO FILL PLACEMENT. 4. ON -SITE SOILS MAY BE USED FOR STRUCTURAL FILL ONLY IF VISUALLY INSPECTED AND APPROVED BY THE PROJECT GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER. ON -SITE SOILS SHALL BE FREE OF ORGANIC MATERIAL AND COMPACTED PER THE REQUIREMENTS OF NOTE 3 ABOVE. 5. ROADWAY CONTOURS ARE SHOWN HERE FOR REFERENCE.
