I am writing once again to ask that the City of Renton act to prohibit the retail sale of dogs for profit. I would
strongly prefer to see Puppyland closed completely. However, if that is not a realistic objective, a humane
ordinance with no exceptions would be the next best step. There are far too many adoptable dogs (and cats)
in the world already. In addition, there is no reason for people to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars
for a pet from highly questionable sources--a pet that may turn out to have serious health issues. Retail pet
stores should be allowed to offer space for rescue/shelter organizations to showcase their dogs for adoption at
a reasonable fee to help meet their expenses.
Thank you for your consideration.
