To whom it may concern,
My name is Michael Hecht, and I have worked in the pet industry for over 10 years. I moved from Florida to Washington
recently to come work for Puppyland. The reason I made that move was because I love and support the core values that
the Kerr family and Puppyland operate their stores with. I have seen first-hand what type of breeders operate out of their
backyards, and sell to the general public when they are allowed to operate as unlicensed and unregulated breeders.
Customers are usually left with little to no help or direction once they have taken a puppy home, especially if they have
any issues. I have also seen many people scammed online through fake breeders. Having a place where you can walk in
knowing that each breeder is licensed, regulated, and inspected on a regular basis gives our customers a great amount of
peace of mind. To place a ban on pet stores would give unregulated and unlicensed breeders full reign to take advantage
of people with no one that they would be required to answer to. They generally do not provide health guarantees, parent
info, or much further info on their puppies. The amount of misinformation that circulates about pet stores is detrimental
and counteractive to making the right progressive changes within the pet industry that are needed. We pride ourselves on
our transparency with our customers. They get to see where their puppy came from, their puppy's medical record, and we
go over everything they need to properly train their puppy. We also offer a no-shelter guarantee. No matter the
puppy/dog's age, Puppyland will never refuse to assist in the rehoming of a pet if the owner is unable to care for their pet
for any reason. We also educate all of our customers on the importance of spaying or neutering their new pet when they
get to the proper age. Our goal is to never leave a single question unanswered before our customer leaves the store, and
also to provide non-stop support once the puppy has left. I am proud of what we do, and invite you all in to come see our
store and meet our pups!
