Renew an Existing Pet License
Published : 4/30/2022 City of Renton uses https://rentonwa.gov/pl for pet license renewals.
To apply for a new pet license, please click here for more information. Log in
You must have an account to renew your pet license online.
Log in with your username and password.
If you have forgotten your username or password, use these
features to recover them via email.
If this is your first time using this portal, click “Register Here” create your
account. For help with the registration process, see the Online Registration
Tipsheet.
Find Licenses:
If you are not already on My Dashboard, click the link in the top Menu bar:
Scroll to the bottom of the page to the My Licenses section:
Identify the license you wish to renew by matching the license number (starting with
PL.) from your renewal notice to the license number on the screen.
Click Renew to begin.
Only one license can be renewed at a time, but multiple license fees can be paid with one payment. See Step 6: Pay Fees.
Pet licenses can be renewed up to 60 days before
their expiration date; your new license will be valid
for a full year from the previous expiration date.
Step 1: Type
Confirm the name and description of your pet in the Description field is
correct.
Click Next to continue.
Step 2: More Info
If you wish to cancel your pet license, please
select the reason for your cancellation from
the options.
Otherwise, click Next to continue.
Step 3: Attachments
No additional files are required for license renewal. Click Next to continue.
Step 4: Review and Submit
Review all information to ensure it is correct.
Click Submit to finalize
your renewal.
Step 6: Pay Fees
Click Add to Cart.

Renewals are not complete until all fees have been paid. If you have questions about the listed fees,
please contact Animal Licensing Services at pets@rentonwa.gov or 425-430-6850.
Click Check Out to begin
payment.
You will be redirected to MyGovPay to enter payment information.
Fill out the Payment Details.
All fields are required.
Click Pay Now to complete
your payment.
A receipt will be emailed to the address on file for your account.
Thank you. Your renewal is complete. A pet license tag will be sent to your mailing address.

If you would like to renew an additional license, return to My Dashboard and repeat the renewal process for each license before proceeding.`
