HomeMy WebLinkAboutNOI Public Notice for NPDES_Rev 5.3.2022Public Notice Applicant City of Renton, 1055 South Grady Way, Renton, WA 98057, is seeking coverage under the Washington State Department of Ecology’s Construction Stormwater NPDES and State Waste Discharge General Permit. The proposed 9.25 -acre park project, known as Kiwanis Park, is located at 815 Union Avenue NE, in the city of Renton, WA. Approximately 4.81 acres will be disturbed for construction of stormwater facilities, utilities, sidewalks, playground, ball fields, restroom, and parent plaza. Stormwater will be collected in an on-site detention system and bio-filtration system, prior to discharge to the City stormwater system in Union Avenue. The stormwater from Kiwanis Park is conveyed to Maplewood Creek (47°29'16.0"N 122°09'45.4"W). Any persons desiring to present their views to the Washington State Department of Ecology regarding this application, or interested in Ecology’s action on this application, may notify Ecology in writing no later than 30 days of the last date of publication of this notice. Ecology reviews public comments and considers whether discharges from this project would cause a measurable change in the receiving water quality, and, if so, whether the project is necessary and in the overriding public interest according to Tier II antidegradation requirements under WAC 173-201A-320.
