I know the building has been approved for use for housing people transitioning out of WA State psychiatric hospitals, but wanted to share my concerns about this facility’s location. I am not opposed to having an IBHTF in Renton but have 2 major concerns about its location. First, as much as we would like every resident to take the opportunity to transition back into the community, not all will utilize this time well and for those who do not we put our High School students at greater risk. This is already a high-crime area of Renton and close to 2 high schools. Also we want a healthy rehabilitation experience for the residents going through the program and I don’t believe a high crime area offers them the best potential for success. Please reconsider allowing this facility in that location. CAUTION: This email originated from outside the City of Renton.
